San Leandro Beer Bet on Warriors - Cavs NBA Finals
Sen. Barbara Boxer hopes to cash in on another bet with Ohio pol. BTW: John Legend to sing national anthem at tonight's game at Oracle.

OAKLAND, CA - As the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers prepare to start the NBA Finals on Thursday, U.S. Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-California, and Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, have put some local beer on the line in a bet on which team will win.
If the Warriors lose, Boxer will deliver beer from 21st Amendment Brewery, which has its brewery in San Leandro and a restaurant in San Francisco, to Brown's office while decked in Cavaliers gear.
But Boxer hopes the series ends again with Golden State coming out on top as it did when the teams played in the NBA Finals last year.

If the Warriors win, Brown will have to deliver beer from Platform Brewing Company in Cleveland to Boxer's office while wearing Warriors colors.
After Golden State beat Cleveland 4-2 in the 2015 NBA Finals, Brown had to deliver beer from a brewery in Akron, Ohio, to Boxer's office.

"This has been a season for the ages for the Warriors, after an NBA-record 73 wins and an epic comeback" against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Boxer said in a statement.
"I look forward to welcoming Senator Brown in his blue and gold best back to our office to toast another championship for an incredible team that embodies the term, 'Strength in Numbers'!" she said.
Brown said in a statement, "Clevelanders and Cavs fans across Ohio can't wait to see our long awaited rematch against the Warriors. This time the Cavs are healthy and have the talent to go all the way."
Boxer, who has served on the Marin County Board of Supervisors and has been a senator since 1993, announced in January 2015 that she would not seek re-election this year.
Game 1 of the best-of-7 NBA Finals is scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday at Oracle Arena in Oakland.
