They found Hill at an undisclosed location in Oakland Wednesday and began surveillance, but when they moved to detain him Hill allegedly fled again by jumping fences through the neighborhood.

Police said one of the residents reported that a man was attempting to enter her home through the back door, and later observed him going into her garage.

Police surrounded the home and allegedly found Hill hiding in a closet inside.

A subsequent search of his home turned up five handguns, four of which had been reported stolen, as well as ammunition, according to police.

San Leandro police spokesman Lt. Isaac Benabou said in a statement that a lot of work went into apprehending Hill, and he evaded capture for weeks. They plan to refer the case to the district attorney for charging on Friday.
