San Leandro High School Students Led Protests Against Police Brutality

Protestors marched from the high school to the police department on Tuesday.

San Leandro High School students led protests in solidarity with the nationwide protests against police brutality and the Black Lives Matter movement. At 3:00 p.m., they marched from San Leandro High School to the San Leandro Police Department in the rain where youth leaders spoke and staged a die in.

It was a peaceful protest, even though school administrators and local police assumed it would not be. The students feel connected to the protests that have sparked nationwide and see parallels with their own struggles.
