San Leandro Mayor and Officials Celebrate New Internet Service

Mayor Pauline Cutter and State Senator Nancy Skinner welcome Common Networks to San Leandro.

(Hasain Rasheed)

San Leandro took another step towards becoming an innovation hub this week as Common Networks announced the arrival of its new high-speed home internet service for the city. State Senator Nancy Skinner, Mayor Pauline Cutter, and San Leandro CTO Tony Batalla each gave a warm welcome to Common, and shared what excited them most about the partnership.

Common’s CEO, Zach Brock, kicked off the event by explaining the company’s mission: to provide access to fast, affordable home internet to all of San Leandro--at just $39 a month.

Mayor Pauline Cutter joked that it only makes sense the company is named Common Networks, since to her, it was common sense that the city would work with them to bring faster, affordable internet service to its residents. Senator Nancy Skinner applauded the City for its foresight and
vision, and expressed her gratitude by presenting Common with a certificate of recognition.

First Residents Connected
Zach Brock concluded the event by sharing that almost 3,000 San Leandrans have already
pre-registered for the service. He shared that many homes were already connected, and they invited residents to sign up.

Customers who sign up now can get their first month of service free of charge by visiting common.net/SLpatch.
