San Leandro Pursuit Ends in Crash
The three had stolen the vehicle at gunpoint, police say.

SAN LEANDRO, CA — Three juvenile suspects were arrested early this morning after stealing a car at gunpoint in Hayward and then crashing it during a pursuit with officers in San Leandro, a police sergeant said.
The carjacking was reported at about 1:30 a.m., when the three suspects approached two women, pointed a handgun at them and stole their car, Hayward police Sgt. Ruben Pola said.
Officers spotted the vehicle and initiated a pursuit that ended in the area of Hesperian Boulevard and Bancroft Avenue, where the suspects crashed and then tried to flee, Pola said.

One of the juveniles was taken into custody at the scene while the two others were found shortly afterward by officers who had set up a perimeter in the area, according to Pola.
The victims were not injured in the carjacking and the suspects were not injured in the crash, he said.
