Sexual Assault Suspect Sought By Police

The victim says she was groped by a man while she was doing laundry in a San Leandro laundromat.

SAN LEANDRO, CA- Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a man who sexually assaulted a woman in a laundromat last month. A 36-year-old woman was doing laundry around 6:50 p.m., Nov. 13, when she was groped by a man in sexual manner in a laundromat at the corner of Marina Boulevard and Washington Avenue.

The suspect fled after she threatened to call the police, leaving the parking lot in a white Honda Civic. He was last seen driving south on Washington Avenue toward San Leandro Boulevard.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man in his early to mid-20s, roughly 5 feet 8 inches tall with a medium, athletic build, according to police. At the time of the assault he appeared to have a clean shave and a neatly trimmed haircut. He was wearing a gray GAP hoodie and khaki pants, police said. Investigators believe he may be responsible for similar crimes in the area.
