Shooting On I-580 Leaves One Person Injured In San Leandro

SAN LEANDRO, CA — Detectives are investigating a shooting on Interstate 580 in San Leandro that left one person injured Thursday afternoon, the California Highway Patrol said.

Officers responded to a report of a possible shooting on eastbound I-580 near the 150th Avenue exit at 4:09 p.m., the CHP said. Shortly afterward, the officers learned that a person with a gunshot wound had just arrived at Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley, according to the CHP.

The victim's wound was not considered life-threatening, the CHP said. Officers spoke with the victim at the hospital and began an investigation into the shooting.
