Supervisor Wilma Chan broke ground with PG& E today at at the corner of Grant and Washington Avenues in San Lorenzo to celebrate the beginning of another beautiful park to the San Lorenzo community. Supervisor Chan applauded PG&E’s willingness to invest in San Lorenzo and is very pleased that the community will soon have a new park to enjoy, courtesy of PG&E.
The park is located across the street from San Lorenzo’s Gateway Park – a $120,000 project that Supervisor Chan saw through to its completion in 2011. When completed, residents and visitors will be greeted by two attractive parks at the corner of Grant and Washington welcoming them to San Lorenzo Village.

When PG&E purchased this lot a few years ago to conduct gas line safety tests, Supervisor Chan asked and they agreed to establish a park when testing was completed. PG&E conducted community meetings in October 2013 and again in January of this year to collect community input on the park design and plant selection. PG&E also made several presentations to the San Lorenzo Village Homes Association and collected additional community feedback. The park design and plant selection reflects what the community wants see in the new park.
