Suspect Arrested In Connection With Robbery Spree

The man is linked to at least 10 robberies and thefts in San Leandro and surrounding cities, police said.

SAN LEANDRO, CA — Police in San Leandro have arrested a man in connection with a series of robberies that targeted Asian and elderly women.

Alonzo Moore, 19, of Antioch, was arrested, according to the San Leandro Police Department and is the fifth arrest in the series of robberies, police said.

On Oct. 29 at 10:58 a.m., officers responded to a report of a strong-armed robbery that occurred in the parking lot of Costco at 1900 Davis St.

The victim, a 56-year-old woman, told officers a suspect pushed her to the ground as she was getting into her car and ran off with her purse. The suspect fled in a blue Kia.

Police located the vehicle shortly after the incident, and pursued the vehicle but lost it in the area of 83rd Avenue and Hillside Street in Oakland.

Police ultimately located the abandoned vehicle and were able to return some of the stolen items to the victim.

Investigators also located evidence that provided information on a potential suspect and were able to identify Moore as the suspect.

Moore was arrested on Wednesday, and police said they not only found evidence linking him to the robbery but to at least 10 additional robberies and thefts in San Leandro and surrounding cities.

The robbery victims range in age from 56 to 92 years old, police said.
