SAN LEANDRO — A driver suffered moderate injuries after crashing a SUV into a home in San Leandro early Thursday morning, according to the Alameda County Fire Department.
Firefighters responded around 1 a.m. to a report of a vehicle crashing into a home in the 1500 block of 148th Avenue and arrived to find the driver, who was trapped in the car and had to be extricated, county fire spokesperson Cheryl Hurd said.
No one was injured in the home, but the SUV clipped the gas meter and electrical connection to the home, which had to be red-tagged, making it uninhabitable until repairs are made, Hurd said.
