Truck Driver Killed in San Leandro I-880 Crash Identified
The driver was killed instantly when his tanker truck crashed and caught fire.

SAN LEANDRO, CA — A truck driver who died when his tanker truck carrying used motor oil crashed and burned on Interstate Highway 880 in San Leandro last week was identified today as a 23-year-old San Jose man.
Hector Francisco Ontiveros-Medina crashed his three-axle near the Davis Street off-ramp just before 4 a.m. on Wednesday, according to the Alameda County coroner's bureau.
Ontiveros-Medina was trapped and killed instantly, according to the California Highway Patrol. CHP investigators have not said what caused the crash.
