Truck Fire In San Leandro Spreads To Hillside

There are homes at the top of the hill, right over the fence.

SAN LEANDRO, CA — Both Alameda County and Oakland firefighters responded to reports of a pickup truck on fire in San Leandro on Monday.

The vehicle fire happened at the Estudillo onramp to westbound I-580. While the pickup was a total loss, quick work by the fire crews saved the hillside, which had homes right on the other side of the fence.

There were no reports of injuries.
