Don't Talk and Drive

On Sunday evening, the Fourth of July, an officer carried out a traffic stop after seeing a man talking on his cell phone while driving, according to Lt. Tudor. The man was on probation.

Officers searched the man's car and found 11 ounces of marijuana — an ounce each in individual baggies — and a stun gun in the driver’s side door bin, according to Tudor. The man was arrested on suspicion of possession for sale of marijuana, transportation of marijuana and being a felon in possession of a stun gun.

Fireworks Not a Problem

San Leandro Police reported no major accidents involving illegal fireworks over the Fourth of July weekend.
