Weekend Fire Displaces San Leandro Woman, Dog

The fire started in the kitchen, fire officials said.

SAN LEANDRO, CA — A woman and a dog were displaced by a fire that broke out Saturday morning at a home in San Leandro, fire officials said.

According to Alameda County Fire Department officials, the fire occurred at a home in the 2000 block of Evergreen Avenue.

The fire, which started in the kitchen, was quickly contained and extinguished by firefighters at 8:35 a.m.

There were no reports of injuries and the cause was determined to be accidental and electrical, fire officials said.
A woman and a dog were displaced by the fire, but received assistance from the American Red Cross, fire officials said.
