It was a last minute decision but I'm glad I was there on 7-17-13 and totally enjoy the delightful musical performance of "Sister Act" at The Pantages Theater among all the wonderful friends at The Pasadena Playhouse.
I learned from Sheldon Epps, the artistic director of the Pasadena Playhouse that the musical was orgianated on the mainstage of Pasadena Playhouse years ago went on a tour. As Elizebeth Doran, the executive Director of Pasadena Playhouse commented to me " like the recently production of "Sleepless in Seattle" now is heading to New York on a tour. Once again strong evidence of the high caliber and professional production coming out from our local community and take center stage coast to coast. And we are so lucky it's right at our backyard.
The bonus was at the pre-reception at the W Hotel, I had so much fun to hang out with Angela Bassett and many of the VIP guests at the reception. Bassett is an Academy Award and Emmy Award nominated actress know for roles in What's Love Got to Do with it, Malcom X, Waiting to Exhale and The Rosa Parks Story.
