Alana Faure new principal at Huntington Middle School

Huntington Middle School Principal

After an exhaustive state-wide search, the San Marino Unified School District Superintendent and Board of Education are pleased to announce that Mrs. Alana Faure has been selected to succeed Mr. Jason Kurtenbach as the new Huntington Middle School Principal, effective July 1.
Currently an Assistant Principal at Huntington, Mrs. Faure has taught and held administrative roles in the San Marino Unified School District since 1990, when she began her career in education as an English Language Development Aide at both Huntington and Carver Schools. Shortly after earning her teaching credential, she was hired to teach English as a second language and then third grade at Carver Elementary School. In 2014, she earned her first administrative position as an Elementary Assistant Principal at both Carver and Valentine Elementary schools.
Superintendent Alex Cherniss said, "Mrs. Faure is a dynamic and strategic school leader with a strong passion for 21st-century learning. She has a proven track record of consistently making student-focused decisions that promote academic success. Her collaborative approach to leadership, focused on building positive relationships, will undoubtedly make her very successful in her new role as principal."
"I am excited and honored to have been chosen as the new Huntington Middle School Principal and look forward to working collaboratively with the staff, parents, students and community," Mrs. Faure said. "I'm committed to providing all students with an exceptional educational experience."
Board President Shelley Ryan said, "Mrs. Faure has demonstrated the ability to implement the Board's vision of a middle school that develops well rounded high achieving students in an ever-changing global society; furthermore, I am confident that she will serve with a high degree of integrity, kindness, clarity, and innovation."
Mrs. Faure has a Master's Degree from the University of La Verne and a Bachelor's Degree from Cal Poly Pomona. She was raised in Taiwan and speaks Mandarin.
The District will begin a search for a new assistant principal immediately.
