• Shooting Victim Found In Trunk Of Car During Routine Traffic Stop: Police (patch.com) — San Marino police uncovered a critically wounded shooting victim hidden in the trunk of a Ford sedan after a late-night traffic stop at Los Robles Avenue and Monterey Road. The driver fled on foot, a front-seat passenger was detained as a person of interest, and Los Angeles County Sheriff’s homicide detectives are asking San Marino area residents for tips to help track down the suspect.    

• Muir gets $2 million donation from Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation to build a new softball field (sgvtribune.com) — A major $2 million gift is transforming John Muir High’s softball field, helping keep young players from needing to travel to leagues in San Marino and other cities just to compete. The new Kobe and Gianna Bryant Field, built with safer synthetic turf, will support both Muir’s resurgent softball program and the growing Alta Pasa Fastpitch league after recent wildfire hardships.
