ABOUT THE BOOK TALK

“Legacy Is a Verb” reframes one of life’s most enduring questions: What will I leave behind? Drawing from the belief that leadership is a journey rather than a destination, the authors explore how legacy is built through everyday actions — courageous conversations, mentorship, compassion, and the willingness to guide and uplift others.

For mature adults rich in wisdom and lived experience, the message is especially meaningful and timely, encouraging participants to recognize that legacy is not simply remembered - it is actively lived.

ABOUT THE BOOK

Trinity of Leadership: Learners, Thinkers, Tinkerers is co-authored by Trisha Beck and Denise Nelson Nash, with contributions from four additional authors. The book emerged from a shared journey through New York University’s EdD Leadership and Innovation program, where the authors formed a collaborative bond rooted in learning, innovation, and reflective leadership.

The co-authors self-published the book while learning the publishing process together — becoming living examples of the principles they explore throughout the work. Through personal stories and candid reflections, the book examines what it means to lead with empathy, trust, authenticity, and resilience.

For Denise Nelson Nash, the event carries special meaning. A longtime resident of San Marino, Nash shared that returning to speak at the library “feels like coming home,” reflecting her deep connection to the community and its enduring commitment to education, culture, and civic engagement.
