Blog: San Marino November Centennial Events

The coming weeks offer a variety of events as San Marino marks its centennial year. The city was incorporated on April 25, 1913.

Sunday: From 9 a.m. to noon, you can get a jump on your holiday shopping at the Centennial Christmas Mission Market at the San Marino Community Church Courtyard, 1750 Virginia Road. Contact: Peggy Flynn, (626) 282-4181, ext. 19.

Tuesday: 6:30 p.m. San Marino City Club’s Rose Queen and Royal Court at the San Marino Center. Information: www.sanmarinocityclub.org

Nov 26: At 7 p.m. another installment of the San Marino Historical Society Centennial Speaker Series. The program is "The Life of San Marino's Adventurer-Pioneer, Michael White" presented by Bill Enger at Crowell Public Library, Barth Room. The San Marino Historical Society has also created a book, San Marino: A Centennial History, that takes readers on a journey through the century with words and full-color photos and maps. According to the book’s website, it touches on the area’s agricultural beginnings, the early families that helped shape its culture and the establishment of the city itself.
