On August 28, 2011, America Cancer Society’s Southern
California Chinese Relay For Life (SCCRFL) will join United Charity Foundation to present the “Absolutely Beautiful” Fashion Show, a special event dedicated to cancer survivors.
Survivors, families and community leaders will gather at San Marino Center to enjoy an afternoon of glamour and entertainment while showing their support for the fight
against cancer.
SCCRFL is American Cancer Society’s first and only Relay For Life in the Southern California Chinese Community, founded by a group of volunteers with the goal of increasing cancer awareness and supporting free patient programs and services in the community. As an
ongoing effort to support and celebrate cancer survivors, SCCRFL partnered with United Charity Foundation to host the “Absolutely Beautiful” Fashion Show. This event is free to cancer survivors while tickets are available for purchase to the public. The program includes a fashion show featuring couture from celebrity designer Thai Nguyen (Thai was also a finalist on Bravos Launch My Line and a fashion designer/contributor on RuPauls Drag Race 2) and GP Wedding Studio located in Temple City, modeled by cancer survivors, celebrities, community leaders and
professional models, as well as high tea, music, entertainment and live auctions. Proceeds of the event will benefit American Cancer Society’s free local programs and services.

“The ‘Absolutely Beautiful’ Fashion Show is a way for us to honor the cancer survivors by offering them an ‘Absolutely Beautiful’ afternoon where they can have fun and enjoy the
glamour. At the same time, the event’s proceed will go a long way to support more patients with free programs and services in the community,” says Vivian Chan, Chair of Special Events of SCCRFL and also a survivor. “We will also launch the ‘Friends of Chinese Cancer Survivors” at the event, a bilingual (Chinese and English) support team for all the patients and survivors in our community. This is an opportunity for our community to come together, have
fun and enjoy the glamour while showing their support for the fight against cancer.”
“Absolutely Beautiful” Fashion Show is presented by Southern California Chinese Relay For Life and United Charity Foundation and sponsored Sunrider International to benefit the American Cancer Society.
