Gas Prices Skyrocket: Where to Get Cheap Gas

San Marino and the Southland saw gas prices skyrocket this week due to a refinery fire in Blaine, WA that is drastically reducing gasoline supply.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County Thursday recorded its largest daily increase since at least 2010, rising 7.3 cents to $4.186, its highest amount since May 19 of last year.

The sharp increase is the result of a major fire at the Cherry Point refinery near Blaine, WA, that will cause its closure for at least three weeks and reduce supply, Marie Montgomery of the Automobile Club of Southern California told City News Service.
