Medicare & Social Security: What Baby Boomers Need to Know

Get your questions answered about Medicare & Social Security

Don't get overwhelmed trying to unravel the myriad mysteries of Medicare and Social Security alone when there is free, no-obligation help available. On Wednesday September 18 at 6:00 pm baby boomers far and wide can come to Crowell Library and have all their questions answered. Linda Polwrek, CFP®, Financial Advisor with Waddell & Reed, and John Dickey, Independent Health Insurance Broker will conduct this valuable workshop. One of the most important decisions one needs to make before retiring is when to file for Social Security benefits. By understanding the various claiming strategies that could enhance income and by coordinating Social Security with the rest of a retirement income plan, a comfortable, worry-free retirement can be achievable. This workshop also aims to provide tools and resources to understand and apply the basic rules and time frames of Medicare, to simplify the process of enrolling, and to navigate the myriad of Medicare plans and cost-reducing options available to you. You will also learn a few not-widely-known ways to reduce your prescription drug costs.
