Fitness Center Opening in Mission District
Folks in the Mission District of San Marino will soon have a place to get in shape. Are you looking for a fitness center?
While , Mission Street is also getting its own spot where you can get lean and mean—well, lean at least.
Fitness professionals Wendy and Chris Grace, who have over 36 years of experience as personal trainers between them, will launch Mission Fitness Center on June 4.
The gym is serious about fitness, Wendy Grace shared with Patch, and offers a wide range of equipment, including a cardio area, many different free weights for experienced exercisers and athletes and a circuit training area that’s more manageable for beginners.

The Graces pride themselves on the diverse clientele they’ve served, from young teenagers to people in their 90s; beginners to elite athletes and dancers.
With novices and seniors in particular, Wendy shared, “We don’t believe in over-training. We truly believe in starting people with baby steps. We’re very much into getting them back in touch with their bodies. And we teach them how to move properly, so they don’t injure themselves.”

Mission Fitness is located in a brick building in San Marino’s Mission District, at 2451 Mission Street, just east of Garfield Avenue and has the feel of an art studio, with high ceilings, exposed brick and wood walls, and huge paned windows.
Local artists are encouraged to come and display their work at the fitness center too, said Wendy Grace, so sculpted physiques won’t be the only thing to admire.
