Are Oak Knoll/Monterey Intersection Changes Dangerous? (Poll)
Some San Marino residents have shared that relocated stop signs and crosswalks at Oak Knoll Avenue and Monterey Road are causing near-collisions. What do you think of the intersection lately? Vote in our poll and share your thoughts.

While stop signs and crosswalks are usually a tool to aid safety, a few readers shared with Patch this week that changes at the Oak Knoll Avenue and Monterey Road intersection are a hazard:
“The new 4 way stop sign intersection at Monterey and Los Robles is unbelievably dangerous and poorly designed, I almost was hit while pushing my stroller and the stop signs are set so far back that cars are obstructed by the landscaping of the houses on each corner... While I stood to talk to a neighbor and the great city maintenance workers working on the intersection we witnessed countless near missed accidents!” -Mary Frances Dee Buckley shared on the San Marino Patch facebook page
“Numerous near-collisions at Oak Knoll/Monterey. Crosswalks and stop signs have been relocated. Be careful.” -Kim Besen said on twitter

“I came close to getting hit the first day. I already warned the City Manger [sic] Office of its danger. They need to a [sic] re-think it!” –Tony Jacoy shared on our facebook page
"The 'relocation' makes this intersection blind and even more dangerous! I drive through it numerous times on a daily basis. I, too, was nearly in a collision on the first day!" -Cynthia Banks Scannell shared on our facebook page
