Welcome Home SGT. Oliver Campbell "Ollie"
San Marino High School Class of 2011 return home in 2016 after recovering from multiple gun shots wounds while on active duty.
The San Marino Rotary Club hosted a special luncheon today to honor our hometown hero, SGT. Oliver Campbell "Ollie". He was a class of 2011 graduate from San Marino High School and played on the Titan football team. Our community welcomed his return home in 2016 after recovering from multiple gun shots wounds he sustained in a firefight with Taliban rebels earlier in the year. His heart stopped at one point while being transported via helicopter but thankfully he was safe and later received a Purple Heart. He told the audience he learned that resilience will help pave the way. In the words of his father "it's a horrific experience as parents, but we are so proud he chose to serve our country"
The San Marino Community Church was packed with his family, friends, classmates, football teammates, neighbors, school counselor, school board members, City Councils & many other community members. Ollie we send you well wishes on all your future endeavors. San Marino is proud to be your Home and a few more "H" - Hero, Humble, Humanity & Hope
May the New Year 2017 bring you joy, peace & happiness to you and your entire family...
