Why Your Teeth Are Related to Your Heart-By USC Dr. Jeffrey Hsu

2-7-19 USC Trojan Affiliates, a women's organization located in the San Gabriel Valley, supports the USC Student Scholarship host the talk

Dr. Jeffrey T. Hsu, USC Periodontist will speak on “Why Your Teeth Are Related to Your Heart” to the USC Trojan Affiliates on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at a private home in San Marino. The meeting will begin with refreshments at 6:30 p.m. followed by the program.

Dr. Hsu received his D.D.S. degree from the USC School of Dentistry and followed that with a general practice residency at the UCLA School of Dentistry. After practicing general dentistry for a year, he decided to pursue his certificate in Periodontics at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he was also afforded the opportunity to treat patients at the local Veterans Administration.

Dr. Hsu has developed skills in implant surgery, periodontal surgery, and site preservation procedures including soft tissue and bone augmentation. He has performed research on different soft tissue grafting techniques and attended vital continuing education courses on the same topic.

Regarding patients, he believes in providing quality dental care and working with both restorative dentists and other specialists to optimize patient dental treatment. He is extremely dedicated to his profession and promotes the practice of evidence-based dentistry for the best care of his patients. In the near future, Dr. Hsu would like to teach and educate students at the USC School of Dentistry.

USC Trojan Affiliates, a women’s organization located in the San Gabriel Valley, supports the University of Southern California and welcomes all interested women to attend its meetings and events. The group meets five times a year at various homes and locations within the San Gabriel Valley and hosts additional social and cultural events while raising needed scholarship funds for USC students. It currently supports ten students who attended local San Gabriel Valley high schools.

USC Trojan Affiliates is in its third year of contributing money to its first scholarship endowment fund of $100,000, using these dollars to support its scholars. Money is also raised from selling unique USC products ---a special line of Maria de La Luz jewelry, scarves, ties, tablecloths, handmade signs, and more. Members also volunteer at the Pasadena Showcase House to earn funds and participate in the USC SCupper, USC Day of SCervice, various Boutiques, and Swim With Mike programs to support the University and its students.
