Woman Hurt in Home Invasion Robbery

Two men forced the woman to open the safe the fled with its contents.

Two men assaulted a woman during a home-invasion robbery in San Marino home early Tuesday, police said.

The crime occurred in the 1800 block of Sharon Place about 1 a.m., according to the San Marino Police Department.

The woman said she was asleep in a spare bedroom when she heard a noise in the living room, police said.

Thinking it was her husband, she walked into the living room and saw a man wearing all dark clothing who grabbed her and forced her into the bedroom, police said.

The intruder, who was accompanied by another man, hit her and demanded that she open a safe, which she did, police said. The men then fled with items from the safe.

The first suspect was described as 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a medium build. The other suspect was described as 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall with a thin build.
