SAN MATEO, CA — Bay Area residents looking for a touch of the coast can now find it at Hillsdale Shopping Center, which recently welcomed a specialty retailer focused on beach, surf and relaxation footwear.
Flip Flop Shops celebrated its grand opening on April 3, promising a laid-back, coastal-inspired shopping experience. Brands featured include OluKai, Reef, Rainbow, Birkenstock, Sanuk and Havaianas.
The Hillsdale location is owned and operated by Bay Area natives Mike and Margarita Guizar, who transitioned from careers in tech and healthcare legal.
"We’re excited to bring Flip Flop Shops to Hillsdale and share the relaxed, beach lifestyle the brand is known for,” said Guizar. “We look forward to becoming a go-to destination for comfortable, high-quality footwear the community can enjoy every day.”
Flip Flop Shops is located at Sixty 31st Ave., San Mateo, CA 94403 at Hillsdale Shopping Center, near Macy’s and Gap.
