SAN MATEO — A 55-year-old man who shot at kids who egged his house and poured oil on his porch entered a plea Monday in San Mateo County, according to a report by KRON4.

Steven Miceli, 55, of San Mateo pleaded no contest Monday to felony assault with a firearm and possession of ammunition by a convicted felon. The charges stem from a May 25, 2025, incident where Miceli fired two shots at an SUV carrying three teenagers who had just egged his home on Annapolis Drive, KRON4 reported.

The San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office told KRON4, the conflict began days earlier when two 16-year-olds and a 17-year-old targeted Miceli's home because a female classmate they disliked lived there.

The group initially spread oil across the porch, and returned on May 25 to throw eggs at the house, prosecutors reported. As the group attempted to drive away, Miceli stood in the street and opened fire, striking the vehicle's passenger side, according to KRON4. No injuries were reported.

Miceli also admitted to a sentencing enhancement for the use of a firearm.

He is currently out of custody on a $25,000 cash bond, pending a sentencing hearing scheduled for August 10.

As part of his release conditions, he has been ordered to maintain no contact with the three teenagers involved in the incident.
