SAN JOSE, CA — A San Jose man was arrested after stealing golf balls from Target stores in Cupertino and San Jose more than 21 times since February, making off with an estimated $4,500 in merchandise, according to the San Jose Police Department.
Investigators identified the suspect as William Pu, 41, of San Jose. Police said the stolen golf balls were being resold online.

The Santa Clara County Retail Theft Task Force joined the investigation and executed a search warrant at Pu's home on Paseo Los Cerritos, where they said they found nearly $8,000 worth of suspected stolen golf balls, still in their original packaging.
Pu was arrested and booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail, police said.
