SAN CARLOS, CA — A 40-year-old transient man is facing felony charges after beating a teenage boy who approached him outside a Walgreens in San Carlos on Monday and asked if he needed anything to eat, according to a report by KRON4.
Ming Yuan Li was charged with felony counts of corporal injury to a child and assault by means likely to produce great bodily injury, along with a misdemeanor assault count, KRON4 reported.

The 15-year-old was waiting at a bus stop on El Camino Real in front of the Walgreens when he spotted Li on the sidewalk and asked if he was alright and whether he needed food. Li said no and when the boy asked if he was sure, Li began attacking him, punching him multiple times in the ear, face and mouth while shouting epithets at him, according to KRON4.
San Mateo County Sheriff's Office deputies said they responded and arrested Li at a nearby gas station.
