SAN MATEO, CA — A 17-year-old Foster City boy was arrested early Sunday morning after a traffic stop in San Mateo turned up a loaded stolen handgun, police said.
Officers pulled over the teen's car around 3:47 a.m. near Third Avenue and South Norfolk Street, police said.
During the stop, officers said they found the loaded firearm in the teen's possession.
The gun had been reported stolen out of Contra Costa County, police said.
The teen was transported to Hillcrest Juvenile Hall and booked on charges of carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle, possessing stolen property, carrying a loaded firearm in public, and a minor in possession of a handgun, police said.
