Brutal Attack Leads To Arrests Of 3 SMC Teens: Police

Police said the three teenagers were already in custody in an unrelated case when investigators identified them as suspects in the attack.

EAST PALO ALTO, CA — Three East Palo Alto teenagers were arrested in connection with an assault that left a man unconscious and injured at an event hall in Mountain View, police announced Monday.

The suspects — two 15-year-olds and a 14-year-old — are accused of attacking a 26-year-old Turlock man on June 20 at the IFES Society Hall on Stierlin Road, according to Mountain View police.

Officers responding to a report of a fight found the man suffering from injuries sustained in the attack, police said. The victim told investigators that three people assaulted him, leaving him with cuts and bruises and a swollen upper eyelid. He also lost consciousness during the attack, according to police.

Investigators identified the three East Palo Alto juveniles as suspects in the case. All three were arrested on suspicion of assault with force likely to cause great bodily injury, while the 14-year-old was also accused of making criminal threats, police said.

All three were arrested Friday in Atherton in connection with an unrelated incident. While the teens were already in custody, Mountain View police filed additional charges against them in connection with the June attack.

The three teens are suspected of assault with force likely to cause great bodily injury. The 14-year-old is also suspected of making criminal threats, police said.

As part of the Mountain View assault investigation, officers executed search warrants Monday at three addresses in East Palo Alto.

No additional arrests were made as a result of the searches, police said.
