Injury Crashes Blocking Lanes Across Bay Area

Crashes affect Highways 92 and 237, while Bay Bridge traffic backs up to the Maze.

BAY AREA, CA — Drivers should expect delays on Bay Area roadways including the Bay Bridge but as far as San Meteo this morning after a series of crashes including one that left a motorist dead.

The fatal crash is blocking center lanes on westbound Highway 92 east of northbound Highway 101, prompting a severe traffic alert.

Another crash occurred near the Highway 92 toll plaza, according to CHP.

In Sunnyvale, two crashes with injuries blocked a lane on westbound Highway 237 east of North Mathilda Avenue. Drivers should expect delays.

A separate collision involving an overturned vehicle affected the right shoulder on eastbound Highway 237 west of northbound Highway 101 in Sunnyvale. Drivers should expect delays there, too.

Traffic on the Dumbarton Bridge is sluggish and Bay Bridge traffic is backed up to the Maze with delays of close to an hour expected.

Likewise, traffic on I-880 is through the East Bay is heavy.

US-101 Southbound traffic is also slow because of a hazard near Rowland Blvd in Novato, according to CHP.

In addition a traffic collision with injuries on CA-37 Westbound entering at Wilson Ave near Vallejo is slowing traffic. Commuters should expect delays.

Drivers should expect fog at the Golden Gate Bridge.
