SAN MATEO, CA — Authorities have identified a 25-year-old man who died after losing control of his motorcycle and crashing in San Mateo on Monday evening, according to a KRON4 report.
Police identified the motorcyclist as Cooper Alexander Lahoud of San Mateo, according to the report.
Police say Lahoud was riding a motorcycle around 5:30 p.m. on Franklin Parkway just east of Baze Road when he suddenly lost control and crashed into a light pole.
Lahoud was likely speeding, and the crash's impact severed a light pole, police said.
No other vehicles were involved, and Lahoud was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, according to police.
Franklin Parkway was closed between Baze Road and Saratoga Avenue for nearly three hours while investigators examined the scene and worked to determine the cause of the collision.
