MARIN COUNTY, CA — The Marin County Board of Supervisors convenes for a two-day session, with a budget hearing Monday and a packed regular meeting Tuesday that includes a long-awaited final vote on a major housing development in Strawberry.
The board will open its annual public hearing Monday at 9 a.m. on the proposed 2026-28 all-funds budget, which totals $902.6 million for fiscal year 2026-27 — a 4.2 percent increase over the prior year.
Following the presentation and public comment period, the board is expected to either adopt the budget or continue the hearing Wednesday.
The centerpiece of Tuesday's agenda is a public hearing and final decision on the proposed redevelopment of the former Golden Gate Theological Seminary property at 201 Seminary Drive in unincorporated Strawberry. The project, brought forward by North Coast Land Holdings, has been more than a decade in the making and would replace aging buildings with 337 units of mixed housing, senior care and childcare facilities, continued educational uses, and preserved open space — with roughly 70 percent of the property retained as recreational or open space.
The board will consider a community plan amendment, master plan, design review, and certification of the final Environmental Impact Report.
The board will also consider adopting a policy to address disruptions to remote public access during meetings, as required by state law taking effect July 1, and will be asked to adopt an updated countywide Emergency Operations Plan aimed at improving coordination across jurisdictions with a focus on historically underserved communities.
Tuesday's meeting begins at 9 a.m. with a ceremonial resolution recognizing Juneteenth, observed June 19.
Both meetings are held in person and online at the Board of Supervisors chamber, Suite 330, at the Marin County Civic Center in San Rafael.
