County to Consider $1.3 Million Purchase of Mobile Home Park
Staff reports say the purchase will help "...protect an existing source of affordable homes..." in Marin County.

Marin County supervisors will consider the purchase of a mobile home park in Forest Knolls at their next meeting.
An agenda staff report for the Oct. 7 meeting states that the Forest Knolls Trailer Court may be purchased for $1,395,000.
The Court is a 20-unit mobile home park that “...currently offers below market rate space rents,” ranging from $575 to $900 a month, according to the report.

The County doesn’t plan to hang on to the property for long, though. Rather, they estimate a sell of it to a local non-profit within three months, the report states.
“The San Geronimo Valley Affordable Housing Association, a local nonprofit which owns and operates senior affordable housing in Forest Knolls, is interested and actively pursuing a role in facilitating the preservation of the Forest Knolls Trailer Court as long term affordable housing.”
