'Active Shooter' Training Drill Held At San Ramon High School

SAN RAMON, CA — Staff and students have historically prepared for natural disasters and now they are learning how to survive in case of an active shooter. Eight days after 17 people were killed during a school shooting in Florida, high school students, staff and police officers in San Ramon all took part in an active shooter drill last week.
The drill, which was coordinated by the administration at California High School, lasted about an hour. Police said three school resource officers, two motor officers and a canine officer participated with staff and students to conduct the drill, which is meant to train those on the campus to be prepared in case of an active shooter situation.
Police officials shared a few photos from the training designed to save lives.
