SAN RAMON, CA — Several businesses at Crow Canyon Plaza were burglarized or vandalized early Tuesday morning, the San Ramon Police Department confirmed to Patch.
At around 4:10 a.m., San Ramon police responded to reports of a glass break alarm at the Utopia Tanning Salon at 158 Sunset Drive. A salon employee confirmed to Patch that at least four people smashed open the door and took about $75 from the register. The business remained open, but put plywood over the door.
While on the scene, police determined that several other burglaries took place, according to Detective Lieutenant Mike Pistello.
One affected business was the Saffron Grill, an Indian restaurant located at 3191 Crow Canyon Place. Owner Sonia Cheema told Patch that video surveillance shows that around six men wearing masks and hoodies pulled up in a white Honda Accord with no license plate, and one smashed open the door. They also stole their cash register, which contained around $1500, Cheema said.
Cheema said that video surveillance showed them entering Club Pilates, located next door. Patch reached out for further information.
San Ramon police said its patrol and investigations division are looking at surveillance footage to develop leads, and that there is no current danger to the community. Patch asked police if they could provide a full list of affected businesses.
