Aparna Madireddi Announces Bid for San Ramon City Council

A Bold, Independent Voice

I am proud to announce my candidacy for San Ramon City Council. It’s an exciting time for our evolving community. Having lived, worked, and volunteered in San Ramon for 21 years, I see this as an opportunity to bring a bold, independent voice as well as my knowledge and experience into our local government.

Being a business owner of a software consulting firm, and currently serving on several committees and boards that directly impact San Ramon, I value the importance of flexibility and transparency. I believe in establishing and maintaining a dialogue between our residents and the council. Solutions come through a free flow of ideas. Our success and progress as a city, in the face of increased development, will depend on how willing our city council is to listen to ideas from all community members.

With a Master’s degree in Geography, and having studied different aspects of urban, rural, political, and human geography, I understand how the planning process works. I serve on the city’s Open Space Advisory Committee, San Ramon Valley Diversity Coalition Task Force, SRVUSD’s Parcel Tax Oversight Committee, Communications Advisory Committee, and the executive board of the Council of PTAs. My experiences in working with several businesses, non-profits, and city groups have defined my priorities to maintain the quality of life in our city- preserving all green spaces and hillsides, expanding public outreach, continuing to work on creating robust finances, and making our community safer.

I believe in working on issues that matter most to our families. A change in leadership will bring fresh ideas and solutions that can be merged effortlessly with the tried and tested policies. I hope I can count on your vote on November 6th.
