The Broadway Plaza Summer Concert Series will be held on Thursday nights during August, in Walnut Creek, beginning at 7 p.m. Scheduled to appear August 4 will be Petty Theft, a San Francisco Tribute to Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Following, on Thursday, August 11, the Sun Kings will pay tribute to The Beatles, As Nature Intended. August 18 will celebrate Evolution, the Ultimate Tribute to Journey. The series will conclude August 25 with The Best Intentions.

Throughout the concert series, Assistance League of Diablo Valley member volunteers will demonstrate the various Operation School Bell® programs that are funded by the thrift shop to benefit students in our community. Likewise, volunteers will provide information regarding other featured philanthropic programs, accept financial donations and explain membership opportunities for teens and adults.

As with The Earth Day Celebration held in April, Broadway Plaza will encourage attendees to contribute denim items, which again will be transported to Assistance League of Diablo Valley’s Thrift Shop at the Way Side Inn, Lafayette for a future event. Proceeds will continue to fund the thrift shop’s hands-on philanthropic programs that benefit our community’s vulnerable.
