Assistance League’s Cashmere Sweaters and Jewelry Event a “Must See”

The innovative member volunteers at Assistance League Thrift Shop, located at 3521 Golden Gate Way, in Lafayette, are busily preparing for the fast approaching “Must See!” Cashmere Sweaters and Jewelry Event scheduled to begin Tuesday, October 18, at 10 a.m. Be the first to arrive to find Cashmere sweaters and accessories for men and women, as well as Cashmere coats for men. Prices range from $6 to $45.

As important, a “Cashmere Team” comprised of thrift shop volunteers, has taken the term “repurposing” to great heights. Rather than disposing of Cashmere items due to partial damage or age, these innovators have salvaged garments by re-skeining to knit or crochet items anew or by enhancing garments, which result in “one-of-a kind” creations of beauty and style. Scarves, tween-sized beanies and infant top knot caps promise to give comfort and warmth during colder weather.

Likewise, complete your fashion statement by perusing the jewelry section. An opal pendant on gold chain, sets of pierced earrings, and a pocket watch are among the multitude of items.
