Since 2006, Assistance League® Diablo Valley has enjoyed a community partnership, where employee volunteers from local businesses and corporations become “hands-on” involved with several of the chapter’s philanthropic programs. On September 12, Community Partners from Walnut Creek Rotary arrived at the Assistance League Annex, a facility that Rotary volunteers had recently renovated, to fill clothing bags designated for Operation School Bell®.

In a mere two hours, ten volunteers bundled six pairs of socks, six pairs of underwear, a sweatshirt, two pairs of pants or one pair of pants and one pair of shorts for the boys, two pairs of pants or one pair of pants and one skort (upon request) for the girls, and three white, collared shirts—all into large, reusable blue bags, 147 in total. These will be delivered to schoolchildren attending Marina Vista Elementary School (GO OSPREYS!) in the Pittsburg Unified School District.

Together, Assistance League Diablo Valley’s Operation School Bell volunteers and Walnut Creek Rotary members will have improved lives in the community by contributing to a meaningful and successful school performance. When two community-minded organizations work in partnership, EVERYBODY WINS!
