Assistance League’s Thrift Shop Spins a Yarn of Beauty and Support
What one-of-a-kind delight will you create while bringing joy to others?

The dedicated member volunteers at the Assistance League® Thrift Shop, located at 3521 Golden Gate Way in Lafayette, prepare for yet another guaranteed sell-out, its annual Yarn Bonanza. Scheduled to begin Tuesday, September 27, at 10 a.m., the well attended event could possibly conclude the following day.
This is difficult to imagine when such an extensive inventory is available. It includes yarns made of wool, cotton, acrylic, mohair, chenille and baby yarn. Added to that will be an assortment of knitting needles and crochet hooks. Likewise, the buyer-friendly price range of $3 to $9 might explain the abbreviated time frame.
As important, consider the hours of enjoyment when creating one-of-a kind items. The very idea of transforming skeins of yarn into apparel, baby blankets, or dresser scarves, for that matter, evokes a sense of pride and self-reliance.
