The dedicated member volunteers at Assistance League Thrift Shop at the Way Side Inn, located at 3521 Golden Gate Way, in Lafayette, are busily preparing for its Western, Pioneer Days & Native American Jewelry Event. The typically well attended promotion will begin on Tuesday, February 8, at 10 a.m.

This event recalls a time when American pioneers hoped to find a better life. They left behind the rocky valleys in the East in search of broad and fertile lands, which promised economic and political freedom. The opportunity to own land negated the risks and hardships.

As in previous years, you will find such western apparel as shirts, hats, boots and purses to complement your western wardrobe. Likewise, western relics, candle holders and paintings will enhance your living space. You can then put on the finishing touches by selecting from an interesting assortment of jewelry.
