Assistant Principal of Gale Ranch Middle School Makes Move to Pleasanton School

Robin Munsell joins Harvest Park on October 3 after serving the last four years as Assistant Principal of Gale Ranch Middle School.

PLEASANTON, CA — The Pleasanton Unified School District welcomes Robin Munsell as the new Principal of Harvest Park Middle School following the Pleasanton Board of Trustees appointment at their regular meeting on September 27, 2016. Munsell has successfully served for the last four years as Assistant Principal of Gale Ranch Middle School in San Ramon and will begin at Harvest Park on Monday, October 3, 2016.

“I’m confident that Robin Munsell will bring 21st Century Instructional Leadership skills to Harvest Park Middle School. She’s committed to working with the top quality Harvest Park teachers and staff to continue the first class educational environment that has always been the hallmark of Harvest Park Middle School”, said Pleasanton Superintendent, Rick Rubino.

Munsell is lauded in San Ramon for her instructional leadership and innovation. She led staff professional development around Common Core State Standards, technology, and culturally responsive instruction techniques. Munsell was an active collaborator with parent associations and took on a number of leadership roles at the school including the school-wide intervention program.

She also served as a member of the Instructional Leadership Corps for Stanford University and the California Teachers Association (CTA) to lead professional development for district and school leaders on the implementation of the Common Core State Standards.

Prior to her administrative experience in San Ramon, Ms. Munsell spent seven years in the classroom at Castro Valley High School as an English and Leadership teacher. She served as English Department Chair in Castro Valley for two years working with 21 teachers to improve student English test scores. Ms. Munsell holds a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Mills College in Oakland and a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of California, Berkeley.
