Cal High JV Football Team Sets School Record In 9-1 Season
The record season was especially impressive, as the freshman and junior varsity teams were combined at the beginning of the year.

SAN RAMON, CA — Cal High School's junior varsity football team has raised the bar: the Grizzlies set a new junior varsity record with their 9-1 season.
Freshman and sophomore players worked together to set the record, as the frosh and junior varsity teams were combined at the beginning of the school year. Still, he said, "it was definitely a surprise that we were able to win nine games."

Last year's JV team went 5-5. This year, the JV team's only loss was to the De La Salle High team. It was disappointing, but Anderson said he tried to motivate them with the prospect that they could set a new record if they won every game after.
Then came rivalry games against nearby Monte Vista and San Ramon Valley High Schools.
