Cal High, Pine Valley On Brief Lockdown Tuesday
A nearby suspect pursuit resulted in a brief lockdown of both schools, police and school officials confirmed.
SAN RAMON, CA — California High School and Pine Valley Middle School were briefly placed on lockdown Tuesday due to a nearby police pursuit, the San Ramon Valley Unified School District and San Ramon Police Department confirmed to Patch.
“SRPD was in a pursuit with a suspect vehicle which was briefly in the area,” SRPD Sgt. Mark Holland told Patch in an email. “Moments after the pursuit began it headed south into Dublin. The lockdown was lifted a short time later. There was no criminal activity at the school whatsoever.”
Police said the suspect was being sought for outstanding robbery warrants, and was apprehended. They also estimated the lockdown was over within minutes.

“We are extremely thankful and appreciative to the quick work of the SRPD to take care of our students and staff, and to all of our school staff for following all safety procedures,” SRVUSD spokesperson Ilana Israel Samuels said.
