California Democratic Party Picks Sabina Zafar for San Ramon City Council

SABINA ZAFAR EARNS ENDORSEMENT FROM

THE CALIFORNIA DEMOCRATIC PARTY

SAN RAMON – Tech executive and community leader Sabina Zafar announced today that her campaign for San Ramon City Council has earned the California Democratic Party’s endorsement for San Ramon City Council.

“Sabina understands the inner workings of the local government and how San Ramon operates with its neighbors, which is so very important.” said Jeff Koertzen, Chair of the Contra Costa Central Committee. “She has the experience to lead San Ramon in the issues it faces today, and will be a voice and listener for women and minorities that do not currently have representation on the city council. Sabina has the vision for San Ramon that will improve the quality of life for all residents and represents the values and vision of the Democratic Party.”

Democrats make up 49.87% of registered voters and have a 21% registration advantage over Republicans. Third party and non-affiliated voters comprise 21.47% of voters. Turnout in the upcoming election is expected to exceed 2012 and 2014 turnout due to the open presidential race at the top of the ticket that benefits Democrats.

“I am honored to be endorsed by the Democratic Party.” Sabina Zafar said. “It means my campaign will have the resources to reach voters and get my message out.”

This is the latest in a string of endorsements for Sabina who recently added former Assemblywoman Joan Buchanan, the San Ramon Valley Democratic Club, and the Contra Costa Young Democrats to her endorsers.

Sabina comes from a family of strong public servants and has been active in San Ramon on the PTA, raising her two children. She is also a member of several bay area organizations and charities that help promote education. Today, Sabina is a successful tech executive who advocates with top Fortune 500 tech companies regularly who chose San Ramon to live the American dream with its safe communities, diverse neighborhoods, and excellent public schools. She was recently appointed to the City of San Ramon Transportation Advisory Committee and is a member of the San Ramon/Dougherty Valley Rotary Club.
