Spring has just begun, but it's time to start planning for summer camp.

San Ramon has many different types of camps – some old, some new. Many of them attract residents from other East Bay cities.

Since there's a lot going on this summer, we've compiled this one-stop guide. Check it out, see what piques your child's interest.
Crow Canyon Nature Day Camp: This is the oldest summer camp in San Ramon. Its goal is to connect kids to nature by participating in outdoor-themed games, crafts, songs, presentations and a field trip. Weekly camping themes include, “Planet Earth,” “Native California,” “Fun on the Farm,” and “Forces of Nature” and each theme has its own corresponding field trip. Crow Canyon Nature Day Camp takes place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday at Crow Canyon Gardens. Two age groups are eligible for the camp and will be grouped together during events. The “Blue Jays” are for first-through-third grades, and the “Crows” will consist of campers in grades three to five. Crow Canyon Nature Day Camp runs from June 20 to Aug. 12. pPrices are $169 for residents and $211 for non-residents.

Camp Central: Camp Central is San Ramon’s newest camp. It's aimed at parents and campers who want the most flexible summer camp available. Campers can go to a half-day morning camp, a half-day afternoon camp or both and choose from a large variety of day camps to attend each week such as Dance and Art Camp, Mad Science, and UK International Indoor Soccer Camp. Camp Central’s full day goes from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, June 13 to Aug. 19 at the San Ramon Community Center, 12501 Alcosta Blvd. The camp is for children aged 3 to 12. Sports and Arts Camps: San Ramon also has a large number of sports and arts camps. Sports camps like "Crazy 4 Sports," Ice Skating and Gymnastics are available to sports enthusiasts from 4 to 18 years old. San Ramon’s arts camps feature subjects like dance, music, theater and others as well as hybrid camps combining more than one art camp subject. Art camps can be enjoyed by campers of all ages, from preschoolers to adults and can be attended as a standalone camp or as part of a Camp Central schedule. Age-Specific Camps: San Ramon also features camps specifically for preschoolers, teens and even has opportunities for adults to get in on the fun. The many preschool camps offer subjects like, “We Love to Paint” and “Mad Science Camp.” Some of these camps have already begun and some classes will run until June. According to the City of San Ramon, the preschool camps are specially designed to, “enhance your child's physical, emotional, social and academic growth.”
Teen Summer Camps like San Ramon’s Studio 925 at the Pine Valley Teen Center are available for teenagers this summer. Activities like swimming at the San Ramon Olympic Pool, movies, video game tournaments, contests, sports, games and arts and crafts are designed to keep teens interested and engaged. Pricing, dates, times and locations for preschool and teen camps also vary depending on the camp chosen.
All San Ramon summer camps have the option of “extended care” that allows parents to drop their children off early and pick them up late from camp.
